Saucony was founded in 1898 by four young businessmen in Kutztown, Pennsylvania. By 1910, the factory was producing 800 pairs of shoes each day! In the early 1900’s running became the focus of the company. Back in those days athletes weren’t wearing high performance running shoes, they were wearing leather spikes or in some cases even barefoot.
It was from this point that Saucony wanted to produce a shoe which could revolutionise the way that people ran. The 7446 spikes were a thing of the past and Saucony were getting ready for the road. In 1979 two of Saucony’s running shoes had been selected by the World Runners Magazine to feature in their top 10. It was following this feature, the demand for the shoes went up 20 times over. Since this great exposure they have been a firm favourite for athletes around the world.
Since then Saucony have been bringing back ‘The Originals’. The Originals line of footwear showcase their signature styles and silhouettes. Great for causal wear The Originals are a great compliment to your everyday wear.
The Saucony Jazz Original Vintage shoe in multiple colourways are now in stock at Yards Store. The Jazz Original is one of the brands most recognised trainers and is a true classic. This classic is made from suede with a nylon upper featuring the famous Saucony wave logo. The wave logo represents the Saucony Creek’s constant flow, and the boulders lining the creek bed.
